PRINT & ELECTRONIC INFORMATION DESIGNER
DESIGN & WAYFINDING SECTION
CUSTOMER COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT

We are currently seeking a Print & Electronic Information Designer.
- Plans, prepares and produces various customer information materials for posters, newspaper advertisements, Customer News, transit route and schedule signs, customer timetables, etc.
- Orders and acquires produced materials as needed from pre-established suppliers
- Creates artwork for various information materials to reflect transit route changes or new routes
- Writes copy and designs layouts for promotional pieces for various events, construction signage, directional handouts, etc.
- Liaises with printers and cartographers to provide instructions, ensure proper specifications are followed and approve and authorize production regarding routes, schedules and mapping information
- Prepares and distributes customer information, as required, estimating coverage and determining target areas
- Directs the installation of schedule and miscellaneous information signage and posters in the transit system
- Updates/maintains customer information of route names, numbers, destinations, layout, typography, changes, etc.
- Maintains route and schedule content on the TTC’s website TTC.ca
- Creates info-graphics and maps to support customer journey planning
- Produces and maintains route maps for operator training program
- Coordinates and authorizes the production and printing of the Ride Guide, and System and Shelter Maps in the transit system to ensure specifications are met, installations are made and supply deliveries are made
- Participation in the TTC customer service Ambassador Program
- Responsible for treating passengers and employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Good working knowledge of TTC transit routes and schedules, facilities and services
- Demonstrated working knowledge of graphics design and graphics reproduction including print design and layout to produce printed material such as posters, pamphlets, flyers, schedules, etc.
- Proficient with the use of PCs and software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, etc.
- Strong creative skills; good organizational skills to meet required deadlines and coordinate the production and delivery of printed material; and effective communication skills for dealing with various staff and external representatives
- A completed University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline such as an arts/graphics program and related work experience in an advertising or graphic reproduction environment; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
Annual Salary Range: $57,366.40 - $71,635.20 (Level 6SA) – 35 Hour Work
